"This year, Partners in Dental Health welcomed three graduates of the Academy of Dental Technology into our practice as employees. They came to us knowing dental terminology and possessing the basic skills necessary to work in a dental practice. Two of the graduates chose to become business assistants, while the other one elected to become a clinical dental assistant.

All three graduates of the Academy of Dental Technology have become dedicated, hard-working employees and are great assets to our practice. The graduates utilized the knowledge they gathered at the dental academy to quickly grasp our procedures and fit in nicely with our existing team.

"Mrs. Lisa Chase has been working at Klar Orthodontics for over 6 months and has been a tremendous asset since she joined our team. Having minimal prior experience in dentistry prior to attending the Academy of Dental Technology, she seemed very knowledgeable when she interviewed for a position at Klar Orthodontics.

Over the past 6 months, we have seen that Lisa had many advantages from graduating from the dental training program, as opposed to hiring someone from a newspaper and/or with no or minimal prior dental experience. Signing up and graduating from the dental course shows a commitment above and beyond in facilitating not only a dental job but a dental career. From taking the course, she seemed to have an overview of the different systems that are in place at any type of dental office. She easily transitioned into Orthodontics from her basic dental education because she had a familiarity with the terminology used in dentistry as well as basic communication and flow between front office and clinical staff. Based on our experiences, graduates could easily transition into any job and/or specialty in the dental field because they get an understanding of the basics by taking the dental course.

Because of her training, Lisa's abilities could have been utilized in a front office and/or clinical setting. In our office, we have a position that utilizes both of those abilities and in the past has been a difficult position to fill. Lisa filled that difficult position in our office. She also was very comfortable working with patients, patient's parents, and if needed, could possibly be utilized as a clinical assistant.

I feel the program provides a great introduction to dentistry and a solid foundation from which a student could explore any avenue in one of the greatest professions in the world. As an employer, I would tell any prospective employee that wants to make dentistry their career to make the commitment and complete/graduate from the Academy of Dental Technology 10 week course. "Changing careers at age thirty-four was frightening, but the Academy of Dental Technology helped me obtain the experience necessary to be marketable in the dental field. I wish to thank my instructors for imparting knowledge, support and understanding thus making the transition comfortable. Because our instructors actually work in the dental office, they have great knowledge of the material covered. Compared to other local dental schools, the Academy of Dental Technology was more comprehensive and less expensive.

The Academy of Dental Technology offers instructions in both Dental Assisting and Front Desk Management. These instructions make one more prepared to do a variety of tasks in the dental office. Everything the instructors promised they would teach was completed and surpassed. The externship program allowed me to be confident and comfortable with the patients.

With the instructors' assistance , I was able to start my new career with a successful growing orthodontist practice. I couldn't have been more pleased with my choice of enrolling in the Academy of Dental Technology."

"Attending the Academy of Dental Technology has been a Wonderful experience. Thanks to the knowledge and experience of our teachers and the hands on training. I have learned a great amount in only one month of taking classes. I already feel I have the confidence needed to work at any dental office. By going into the operatories and doing the procedures step by step, one is able to see exactly how everything is done in the dental office.

Another great feature is learning how the front desk operates and how to use Softdent®. Knowledge of front office procedures and the Softdent® program makes me more valuable in any Dental office and has opened many options for my career.

Overall, going to the Academy of Dental Technology has been one of the best decisions I've made. I've been able to pursue my desire to work in the Dental field and have found a truly rewarding career."
