The educationally qualified Dental Assistant is a highly competent individual, possessing skills and knowledge of value in patient care. Dental Assistants are trained in clinical, radiographic, and administrative procedures, which make them an indispensable member of the Dental Health team. Dental Assistants perform a variety of patient care, office, and laboratory duties. During Dental treatment, the trained and knowledgeable assistant ensures that the patient is comfortable and relaxed, as well as assists the dentist in delivering quality dental care. The exposing and processing of dental x-rays is a major responsibility of the Dental Assistant. Additional responsibilities include sterilization of instruments and disinfection of operatories. Front Desk Administrative Assistant

We also provide instruction for SoftDent© - one of the most popular Dental Front Desk Software programs. The hands on experience you gain on the this software will significantly enhance your earning potential as a Front Desk Administrative Assistant. The Front Desk Staff member performs a variety of duties. This person must make a great impression with patients and be a positive reflection of the philosophy of the dental office. They must possess computer knowledge, verbal skills, and the confidence to work with financial and insurance companies.

X-Ray Certification

Is Your Dental Staff X-Ray Certified? For Only $125 per Participant, You Can Ensure
that Your Staff is Able to:

  • Assume responsibility and accountability for radiographic services by demonstrating safe operation of dental x-ray equipment, based on knowledge of radiation physics.
  • Identify radiation risk factors to the US population and advocate the need for requirements for controlled x-ray production based on the knowledge of radiation biology.
  • Employ techniques and utilize radiographic equipment that will provide patients with the maximum radiation protection.
  • Adhere to state and federal laws, recommendations, and regulations in the provision of dental radiographic services.
  • Knowledgably and confidently respond to patient's concerns and questions regarding the dental x-ray procedure.

Earnings

Dental Assistants and Front Desk Staff compensation is dependent upon their particular responsibilities, the policies of the office in which they work, and the geographic location of the employer. Most dental offices will not consider employment without experience. The salary for experienced dental assistants and front desk staff is considerably higher than that of non-experienced.
